Top 10 Vintage Male Models In Underwear

by Jakey May

So many male models have made their mark on the underwear world, we decided to round up the top ten old school photos of vintage male models in underwear. Of course, no list would be complete without the man who made the biggest mark, ‘Marky’ Mark Wahlberg himself.

Scouring the archives for the best in vintage male model photos, we came across some real gems—some more long lost than others. We reached back to the 90s to bring back some iconic shots of other celebs like Mark, who were launched into stardom modeling their famous physiques. Mullets, classic g-strings, and high-rise briefs hiked up past the belly-button—it’s all here and more.

Check out our favorite vintage finds below, and let us know if you’ve got any tucked away for posterity!

Right behind Mark Wahlberg in our list of favorite 90s Calvin campaigns is the young statuesque Djimon Hounsou, who you may remember working this same look in Janet Jackson’s video for ‘Love Will Never Do (Without You).’

Lest we forget, the former Mr. Demi Moore also got his start as a young model. Here’s Ashton Kutcher deep in thought wearing Joe Boxers.

In this vintage shot of John Hackett, the model looks to be taking his mark for a race in his classic white g-string.

This guy is all business in the front and party in the back. His business just happens to involve looking tough in old school aviators and a striped bikini.

In this photo of classic western film star George Montgomery, the actor sits sporting a pair of white swim trunks.

There’s full coverage, then there’s these guys. Holy high-rise, Batman!

These red mesh briefs by Unusual Underthings are actually surprisingly current.

These guys might be our favorites, for all the obvious reasons. We also love their rad 80s striped swimwear.

This Tom of Finland drawing exemplifies the artist’s signature style of rendering the male form. Guys just don’t pump gas in their briefs like they used to.
