C-IN2 updates its vintage-inspired Hand Me Down range with three new color combinations. Currently available, the C-IN2 Hand Me Down collection now comes in green and clearwater blue, ombre green and green, and scuba blue and ombre teal.
For the upcoming spring season, C-IN2 presents a color palette inspired by tranquil colors of the ocean and its surroundings. From the sun-bleached hues of faded umbrellas to seaside cabanas, tranquil shades of blue, teal and green give the Hand Me Down range a new take.
Gregory Sovell, creative director of C-IN2, came up with the inviting color palette while vacationing in Spain last year. “I was in a boat going from Ibiza to the island next door, Formentera, when I noticed that as the water depth changed so did the color of blue,” he told the Underwear Expert. “It was literally dashes of blue.”
Inspired by the younger siblings who ended up with their older siblings “hand me downs,” the C-IN2 Hand Me Down collection offers a wear and tear look for men’s underwear and t-shirts. The collection was first introduced in Spring 2009 as a new, fun alternative to men’s underwear.
“We thought it would be fun to take traditional collegiate colors and mix them in to underwear that was burned,” said Sovell. “The result is a pre-loved item that make you covet them like a true hand me down.”
The Hand Me Down collection is made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester, which is immensely soft and fits perfectly like most vintage items. “This is almost the only time I’ve ever used polyester for underwear,” said Sovell, the former creator of 2xist, “but this fabric gives the collection a vintage looking characteristic since the cotton is worn away.”
The collection consists of a low no-show brief ($22), profile brief ($22), runner boxer shorts ($26), army trunk ($26), ringer tank top ($26), ringer crew T-shirt ($35) and ringer V-neck T-shirt ($35).
The C-IN2 Hand Me Down range is available in S-XL.
