Men’s underwear and swimwear brand D.HEDRAL has announced Thom Evans as the face of its Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign. The ex-Scotland International rugby star was photographed on location in Greece by Daniel Jaems for the campaign which features Thom wearing the iconic ‘Gigolo Joe’ briefs and classic ‘Leon’ briefs.
Thom Evans was a Scottish international rugby union player until the age of 24, when he suffered a career changing neck injury playing against Wales. Having survived an injury that could have left him paralysed, Thom retired from rugby and became a sprinter.
Of course, this isn’t Thom Evans’s first go at modeling. The athlete is represented by Select Models in London and was featured on the cover of Attitude UK and as the model for another Daniel Jaems series in FTAPE (including a photo of Evans in D.HEDRAL).
The new Thom Evans for D.HEDRAL campaign is intended to show the sporty and masculine sex appeal of the brand’s product design and aesthetic. Speaking on his experience working with the brand, Thom Evans said, “I’m excited to be fronting my first fashion campaign since signing with Select Models last year and
am really enjoying the challenges that modelling and acting bring. Similar to being a sportsman, the
industry demands discipline and structure. You get out what you put in.”
Also seen in these images is the debut “beachwear” line from D.HEDRAL. The men’s swim trunks, swim briefs and swim shorts boast the same innovative ‘Anglefit’ technology used in the rear of the underwear, intended to create a more tailored fit.
