Iconic photographer Rick Day had a good year. First he caught everyone’s attention with his work for C-IN2 which features Daniel Garofali; now, he’s showing us what he did this summer with his new series in the fifth issue of Coitus Magazine, “Diary Days of Summer.”
The Rick Day summer photos are balmy, youthful and a little bit naughty. Day photographs Kevin Baker, Andre Boleyn and Jim Kerouac as the stars of his pool party shoot. The three models all have a boyish innocence in their faces that makes the series even more appealing. You see them pose in swim briefs before stripping naked and taking a dip, then finally drying off and tanning in the sun.
The Rick Day summer photos series, which was designed by Leon Sanli, was shot in South Africa. The bright-eyed boys are clearly enjoying all manner of summer pleasures; luckily for them, summer in South Africa has just begun. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Rick Day summer photos serve as a wonderful window into the past and an image to look forward to for next year.
