Daniel Garofali’s Element

by

Brooklyn based photographer Greg Vaughan shot a new series, “In His Element,” featuring Daniel Garofali. The Manhattan skyline can be seen in the background of several of the photos, shot from a rooftop across the East River. There are also images of Garofali indulging in a shower, flexing against a concrete wall, and crawling in front of a inky background.

Throughout Garofali’s many costume changes, we see him wear artistically stained white briefs, an x-ray style track jacket, and a beater with photos of Kate Moss ironed onto the chest in a pop art style.

Garofali is a model that knows how to dominate the frame. Vaughan gave him a diverse wardrobe and interesting environment to show his strengths. As a result, Garofali’s powerful presence was captured in a fun and sometimes playful way.

As we’ve seen before with his portfolio update featuring Renan Roziak de Mello, Vaughan works best with tough, masculine models. Garofali embodies these qualities making for an ideal photographer-model collaboration.

Which of Daniel Garofali’s many costume changes caught your eye?
