Calvin Klein Underwear, a division of the Warnaco Group, Inc. announced today that apparel designer Brian Reyes will become the company’s Vice President and Head of Global Design. The apparel designer will lead the global design team and will also be responsible for the development of all products for Calvin Klein Underwear. Reyes will report to Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein Underwear, Bob Mazzoli.
“Brian is an exceptional talent who brings tremendous experience and keen awareness of current fashion trends in men’s and women’s design,” says Mazzoli. “He is an accomplished and creative leader who will serve as a great inspiration for our own talented designers, ensuring that great design leads the process by which the Calvin Klein Underwear brand extends its long-standing leadership position.”
According to a press release, “Reyes has an extensive and diverse background in fashion, spanning more than 10 years.” The designer, who began his career at Polo Ralph Lauren, has contributed to a number of top fashion houses, including Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta and TSE Cashmere House. Reyes “received his first exposure to intimate apparel while serving as the Director of Design Licensing at Oscar de la Renta, which first sparked his affinity for the category. While at Michael Kors, he helped re-launch and build the men’s business, working directly under Mr. Kors’ direction.”
“I am delighted to be taking on this new and exciting role,” says Mr. Reyes. “The underwear category is unique in that it is a fundamental basic, but has so much possibility to be intriguing, sexy and desirable. Calvin Klein in particular has such incredible history and brand power. I look forward to providing long-term creative direction for this quintessential iconic global brand.”
Calvin Klein Underwear leads the intimate apparel industry with “cutting edge design, innovative fabrics, and exceptional fit and quality,” the press release continues. “Today, it continues to evolve its reputation as the brand of choice for consumers who want modern, bold, and sexy designer underwear and intimate apparel.”
