The Alberta Cancer Foundation held their 6th Annual Underwear Affair last week. The event, aimed at raising money for cancer research, consists of underwear clad participants running either a 5k or 10k race. This year’s race attracted over 1,289 participants, and raised $803,000.
“The Underwear Affair has become a truly iconic fundraiser for the Foundation as we pursue our goal of a cancer-free future for all Albertans,” said Nick Locke, Vice President of Fund Development for the Foundation. “We’re absolutely thrilled and grateful for the support that Calgary and the surrounding communities have shown for this year’s event. The $803,000 raised is already being put to use funding programs that ensure thousands of Albertans receive colorectal and cervical screenings through our 17 Alberta cancer centers.”
The foundation is already seeking registrants for next year’s fundraising race.
