STUD, a brand just now breaking into the English-speaking markets, though well established in the Asia Pacific region, is releasing its Spring and Summer collections and has been carried in select stores in London and the USA since the beginning of April. Its bright, sporty designs in briefs and trunks help STUD hit the sweet spot.
“STUD is created with today’s contemporary man and his active lifestyle in mind,” says Nir Zilberman, the representative for STUD at the MANTRENDS agency. “STUD believes the contemporary man of today is multi-faceted; he is sporty, he is well traveled and worldly, cultured, refined, sexy, etc. STUD’s collections always try to take inspiration from these traits. STUD is for the man who wants and deserves great design, quality, image and style.”
The Spring and Summer collections exude fun, fresh and modern energy. It’s an upbeat and feelgood collection with STUD’s signature sporty aesthetic in a modern interpretation. The collection features a new fresh and confident color palette.
The Denim Blue Collection in particular stands out, for its unique fabrication and playful look. A tight-fitting brief styled to look like jeans should appeal to the denimheads out there. Other distinctive collections is the City Degrees series. Each named for a different world city, these briefs sport the latitude and longitude of their namesake city on the rear.
This globalized outlook isn’t just a design element — it’s part of the brand. “In the short two and half years of the brand['s existence], STUD is now in key department stores in Malaysia, Thailand and most recently Singapore. The brand is also stocked in high end multi-brand stores in Hong Kong and China as well as select stores in Taipei and Australia,” says Zilberman. And STUD doesn’t stop there: “For SS2012, STUD makes its appearance in select stores in London and USA. STUD is very proud to first be seen in the amazing LA JOCK store in Los Angeles, ahead of anywhere else in the USA.”
STUD’s Spring and Summer collections are all made of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. The underwear is either a low rise brief or trunk, and retails between $32 and $36.
